Graphic Design for Set-up of the Migration & Displacement LinkedIn Channel

United Nations Volunteers

JOB DESCRIPTION

Organization Mission

• Mission
Action by Churches Together (ACT Alliance) is a coalition of more than 148 churches and church-related organisations working together in over 128 countries to create positive and sustainable change in the lives of poor and marginalised people regardless of their religion, politics, gender, race or nationality in keeping with the highest international codes and standards. ACT Alliance is faith-motivated, rights- based, impact focused, committed to working ecumenically and inter-religiously, with the communities we seek to serve and accompany at the centre of our work. Our members respond in areas where suffering, poverty and injustice occur, regardless of location.
ACT members are committed to leaving no-one behind. Hope in Action seeks to include those
who are otherwise excluded or marginalized. ACT seeks to release the agency of people affected by poverty and crisis by moving them from being passive recipients to actors in their own development and relief. In doing so, ACT Alliance enables, supports, brings specialist skills, enhances voices and shares learning, enabling and accompanying communities to realize their hopes and ambitions through joint action.
• Objectives
In promoting a just, inclusive and sustainable world, ACT Alliance implements effective humanitarian, development and advocacy work at national, regional and global levels by saving lives, providing emergency assistance and supporting sustainability, enhancing the rights of those whose rights are not realized.

Context

This assignment complements the start-up phase of communications of the Migration and Displacement Programme at ACT Alliance, a global faith-based coalition working in more than 120 countries. As the programme consolidates its strategic priorities, partnerships, and public presence, establishing a strong and credible LinkedIn channel is a key step to amplify locally led perspectives, share evidence-based advocacy messages, and connect with humanitarian, development, and policy audiences. The graphic design support will contribute to positioning the programme from the outset with a clear, values-driven, and rights-based visual identity aligned with ACT Alliance’s broader communications framework.

Key Responsibilities

The Online Volunteer will:

• Develop a visual identity package for the Migration & Displacement LinkedIn channel, aligned with ACT Alliance branding (fonts, colors, tone).
• Design a LinkedIn banner/cover image and profile visuals for the channel.
• Create 5–8 reusable post templates, such as: quote cards (faith, dignity, rights, localization, etc.); event announcements and recaps; key facts or data highlights on migration and displacement; partnership or network spotlights; propose a small set of visual guidelines (1–2 pages) covering layout, color usage, typography, iconography, and accessibility considerations.
• Deliver editable design files (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar) to enable future use by the team.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in graphic design for social media, particularly LinkedIn.
• Strong sense of layout, typography, and visual storytelling.
• Familiarity with accessibility-friendly design (contrast, readability).
• Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Figma.
• Ability to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, respectful visuals.
• Working proficiency in English (Spanish is an asset).
